 About

The First Note

Carol Joy Evans  has been providing in-studio voice lessons for over 25 years, first in the greater New York City area,  and since 2010, in Fort Collins, CO.   Because of the health benefits of singing (tall posture, oxygen to the brain through released breathing, emotional connection),  she chose "Sing for the Health of It" for her studio name, dba "Sing4Health."

Seeking more ways to serve those who want to sing better:

  • 2016:  in-home and online lessons were added to help make life easier for busy students and parents.

  • 2018, cello and flute  teacher referrals were added.

  • 2020, Berthoud lessons were added, thanks to Grace Place.

  • 2020, FREE virtual SipNSings Performance Classes added to keep the music going during COVID-19.

  • 2023, beginning piano lessons added for all ages.

Carol Joy considers it a privilege to help students of all ages and abilities grow as singing artists and musicians and hopes to welcome many more students in the years to come.

SING for the HEALTH of It!
Founder’s Notes

I started teaching privately while earning my Master's degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, in the 1980s.  I'm so thankful to my students and teachers since then who have helped me become a better teacher.

In 1999, Sing for the Health of It was born out of my desire for students to learn how healthy singing is good for you:  body, mind, and spirit.   We've been given amazing internal instruments in our voices.   I hope you'll give me the opportunity to help build your voice so you can enjoy using it throughout your lifetime!

"Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!  It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship is marvelous—and how well I know it."  Psalm 134:14 (TLB)

We’d love to hear from you!
