Summer Hydration Tip #2 of 8: Melons

Let's here it for MELONS! Melons like canteloupe and watermelon have anywhere from 89-92% water content. According to the Ontario Equestrian organization, (isn't that an unusual resource!) a serving of melon provides 29 calories, is made up of 89 percent water, and is an exceptionally good fruit for supporting energy production through its efficient carbohydrate metabolism and ability to keep the blood sugar stable.

Here's a site that lists 20 types of melon, including:

  • Canteloupe

  • Watermelon

  • Honeydew

  • Casaba melon

  • And more!

Have a look, and ENJOY!
